Jim is a USCG Licensed Captain; an ASA certified sailing instructor, and a US Sailing Race Committee Officer as well as a U.S.S.A. Certified Skiing Instructor. He served as delivery Captain aboard the 85′ Russian Whitbread boat Fazisi. He has delivered a multitude of boats of all shapes and sizes to and from the Caribbean.
Prior to his sailing career Jim received his teaching credentials from Purdue University. He achieved numerous licenses and certifications: Masters Pipe Fitters license, a Journeyman Sprinkler Fitters license and over 20 American Welding Society and American Society of Mechanical Engineering certifications as well as certifications from Kodak International. In order to keep busy when not on the water, Jim also builds and restores homes and held a builder’s license in the state of Massachusetts.
